# AI setup sprint: one job off your plate in a week, without building it yourself

Mackenzie Bowes takes one named job, such as booking replies, meeting notes or entering receipts, and has AI run it on your own accounts within a week. You spend about 2 hours on it. US$2,500 fixed, with a handbook for your staff, a sheet on your client data and a fix-it guide your own AI can follow.

Pick the one job that eats your week. In one week, AI runs it on your own accounts, and you didn't have to build anything. You spend about 2 hours on it: a kickoff call and a handover. The price is US$2,500, fixed.

The jobs people search for most are named jobs, not "AI" in general: an AI receptionist, an AI note taker, AI bookkeeping, an AI scheduling assistant. Here are the kinds of jobs a sprint takes on:

1. **The front desk inbox:** answering booking requests and the same five questions, in your voice.
2. **Meeting notes:** a call recorded, written up, and the actions sent to whoever owns them.
3. **Bookkeeping entry:** receipts and invoices read and filed in your books.
4. **Scheduling:** appointments booked, moved and reminded by text or email.

Answering the phone itself isn't one of them yet. For now a sprint handles the email, booking and text side of the front desk.

## What you get

**The core: one job, running, in a week.** Mackenzie builds it end to end on your real work, on your accounts: ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft, Zapier, Make, n8n, or a small program you own. Fixes are free for 30 days. Value: US$2,750, the lowest published price we found for one automated workflow from an agency (Innovatrix Infotech's single workflow, US$2,750 to US$4,900).

Not only do you get the job done. Every sprint also comes with a handbook for that workflow, written for your business, with three pieces that the [14 alternatives we priced](/competitors/ai-agent-setup) leave to you:

1. **A staff kit, so your team actually uses it.** It has a one-page sheet to pin up: what changes for them, what they still do, and who to tell when something looks wrong. It also has a prompt your staff paste into ChatGPT or Claude to ask questions about the workflow, answered only from your handbook. On the pages we read, none of the 14 options we priced includes staff training. Value: US$65, one hour of a US software developer at the median wage (US$65.38, US Bureau of Labor Statistics).
2. **A client-data sheet, for when you have to answer for client information.** A table shows each piece of client data the workflow touches: where it comes from, where it goes, how long it's kept and who can see it. The sheet also names the AI model and links its data terms. Last, it records the date Mackenzie's access was removed and shows you where to check. This is for anyone who has to answer to clients, a regulator or a professional body. On the pages we read, none of the agencies, freelancers or fractional hires we priced says how it handles a client's data or accounts. Value: US$65, one hour at the same wage.
3. **A fix-it guide your own AI can follow, for when an app changes and it breaks.** It covers the likely breaks, each with a click-by-click fix, plus a prompt that has ChatGPT or Claude walk you through the repair one screenshot at a time, and a test to confirm it works again. You can keep it running without a retainer. Value: US$499, one month of the lowest-priced upkeep plan we found (Vibe Code Rescue's US$499 a month).

The handbook is plain text, so you can hand it straight to your own AI assistant. You get it on the last day of the sprint.

**Total value: US$3,379. Your price: US$2,500.**

**Guarantee:** US$250 deposit to book, credited to the bill. If the job isn't running on your real work by the end of the week, you don't pay the other US$2,250.

## What it asks of you

About 2 hours. The kickoff call is where you pick the job and show how you do it now. The handover call is where you get the handbook. You'll also need to give access to the accounts the job touches, and that access is removed at the end, with the date written in your client-data sheet.

## Who it's for

It's for a business owner who holds the budget and wants one named job gone this month without learning a tool. If you'd rather build it yourself, a $9-to-$20-a-month automation tool may suit you better. [The comparison](/competitors/ai-agent-setup) shows when.

## Who does the work

Mackenzie Bowes does the work, with the AI agents Mackenzie runs every day. Mackenzie built and ran [GPTBoss](/stories/gptboss-240k-ai-business), an AI product with 60,000 signups and $240,000 CAD in revenue in 2023. Mackenzie also spent thirteen months building production AI systems for [Huzi AI](/stories/huzi-ai-infrastructure). Mackenzie runs one sprint at a time, so the person who answers your email is the person doing the work.

## Limits

A sprint covers one job. Phone agents and chatbots aren't sold as packaged products, but a sprint can connect texting through Twilio as part of a job. After the week, more jobs come through a new sprint or [the retainer](/offers/ai-retainer).
