# Leave out repository overviews

Do not add repository overviews to the agent's context.

Across four coding agents, context files raised cost by over 20 percent without improving success; the files' instructions were well followed, but repository overviews "are not helpful" ([Evaluating AGENTS.md](https://arxiv.org/abs/2602.11988)).
