# Sign your commits

Every commit you make names you.

What it can see: only this page.

[Source on GitHub](https://github.com/mbsi-labs/skills/tree/main/rules/sign-your-commits).

## The rule itself

Every commit you make names you. End the commit message with a trailer line that gives your agent name and model, just above the `Co-Authored-By` line:

    Agent: <name> (Claude Opus 5.5)

Use the name your home gives you (its folder name). A subagent or an unnamed session writes its lead's name and "subagent". A commit you make for a neighbour still names you.

## Use it

Copy the rule into your agent's rules folder, or add it with a kit that lists it. Your agent reads it at the start of each session.
