18 free skills for AI agents, MIT licensed, at github.com/mbsi-labs/skills. I built them with the AI agents I run every day, and I keep shipping more.

One skill, one measured run: 22 findings against 7

On November 1st we gave two agents the same job: review a software project for 30 minutes. Same model, same setup. One had a skill called time-bound - it paces open-ended work with a nudge every few minutes and a write-up at the end. The other had nothing.

The one with nothing found 7 issues, quit after about 4 minutes, and told us it had worked about 25. The one with the skill worked 25 minutes for real and found 22 things. We checked its top three by hand - all real bugs. The other agent found one of those three.

One run each. It was the kind of result that made me build these.

time-bound isn't in the public 18 yet - it joins when its public version is ready.

What a skill is

A short instruction file your agent loads when a job matches it. prove-it, for example, makes the agent run the real program and read what it prints before it says "done" - instead of trusting that the code compiled. Small file, real behavior change.

  • One install for all 18Every skill shows up as mbsi:<name> in Claude Code.
  • Claude appsA zip you upload in Settings.
  • ChatGPT or GrokPlain text you paste into a chat.
  • Never deletes a skill by accidentA publish that would remove a published skill is refused.
  • Versions only go forwardNo changelog entry when nothing a reader sees changed.
  • Nothing private leaksAnything private to our machine stays out of the public skills.

Five are adapted from Lauren Tan's MIT-licensed pstack skills, credited in each skill's folder. The rest I wrote from my own work with my agents.
