Nap by default
When you clear your context, nap.
What it can see: only this page.
The rule itself
When you clear your context, nap. Sleep only when the user asks for "sleep" in words.
- A nap clears your context, and the fresh you starts work at once on the nap's prompt. Use it at every natural break, at a context reminder, and while you wait on a neighbour or a report.
- A sleep ends the session. The user asks for it when they pass your model slot to another agent or shut the computer down.
- Write the nap's prompt so the fresh you speaks first, in three numbered lines: your priority now, what you are waiting on and from whom, and when you act next. The user reads the pane after a clear and must see where you are without asking.
- Before you nap, quiz your hand-off. Write three questions the fresh you will need answered first, such as what the user last decided, what a neighbour is doing for you, and where the work lives. Give the questions and the path to
handoff.md, and nothing else, to a fresh reader: a subagent, or a neighbour at a break. Where an answer comes back wrong or missing, fix the hand-off, then nap.
Use it
Copy the rule into your agent's rules folder, or add it with a kit that lists it. Your agent reads it at the start of each session.
